Naughty Racy
Wine description:
Napa Valley, CA, United States
This is a very fun, unusual blend of grapes you rarely see together, making for a wine that somehow tastes of Napa, and of nothing you have ever had before. Wines like this are what attracted us to Reynolds Family in the first place, as it’s exciting and unusual to see winemakers in Napa taking risks like this!
Vinification: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Zinfandel, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot. Fermented in tank followed by a year in a mix of 90% French Oak and 10% American Oak.
Tasting Notes: Dark ruby robe, with ripe fruit, spice and cedar on the nose. The initial palate is berries that transition into red fruit and pepper with the cedar and a bit of Cab-Franc greenness coming back on the complex finish
Suggested Pairings:
Crispy Cauliflower

Riesling
Ojai
This riesling has more of a primary fruitiness in aroma, but this wine has a striking earthy prominence now. White tea, minerals, and kaffir lime leaves up front, then lemon meringue, tangerine zest and some tough-to-place white fruit.

The Syrah Santa Barbara County is gorgeous, and lovers of elegant, cool-climate Syrah should snatch up this wine. Blackcurrants, blueberries, violets and hints of peppered meats give way to a rounded, supple, juicy palate.
